Hatch Desk

Build repeating CAD hatch patterns

Drawing units / preview only
Line families
#AngleSpacingDash sequence

Line family 1

Positive = dash, negative = gap, zero = dot. Up to six values. ΔX follows the line angle; ΔY is perpendicular.

Matching pattern names

Choose how to handle these imported patterns.

Draw a repeating tile

Draw straight segments on the grid. The tile repeats in both directions. Applying it replaces this pattern's line families; Undo can restore them.

Backup / restore

Save a JSON backup of all patterns, including unfinished edits. Restoring a backup replaces the current library after confirmation. PAT exports are ready for AutoCAD.

Build, preview, export

  1. Select a sample or create a new pattern. Edit line families, or draw your own repeating tile.
  2. Preview scale and angle simulate AutoCAD's hatch settings. Geometry scale/rotation changes are saved in the PAT definition.
  3. Export pattern produces PATTERN_NAME.pat. Export library produces a ZIP with one PAT per pattern.
  4. Extract to a dedicated folder and add it to AutoCAD's Support File Search Path. Select the pattern in Hatch, then set its scale for your drawing units.
  5. Import merges files with explicit duplicate handling. Open replaces the library after confirmation. No source file is overwritten.
  6. Drafts save in this browser when storage is available. Use Backup / restore for a portable JSON backup. Dense previews stop at a work limit instead of freezing.
